On your Newton, tap on the "Connection" icon, choose the appropriate communications type, and tap the Connect button. In just a few seconds, the Happy party hat icon will appear in your Extras Drawer on your Newton._Using HappyHappy is simple. Tap on Happy and a reminder will appear. Happy may look through your Names for upcoming birthdays. Happy will only perform this search once per day, or after a reset. If someone has a birthday within 14 days of today's date, then Happy will show that person's name along with the number days until their birthday. Of course, Happy won't know someone's birthday unless you fill in the Names card field for birthdate. You can close the window by tapping in the close box in the lower right corner, or Happy will dismiss itself within a few seconds. If you wish Happy to stay displayed on your Newton, you may simply tap anywhere within its borders. If you don't want Happy to bug you anymore, simple tap the large button labeled "Leave Me Alone." Happy will not show up again until tomorrow.Once you install Happy, it will automatically remind you of upcoming birthdays every time you turn on your Newton device! ( Well, not really every time -- only if one hour has passed since the Happy Reminder was last displayed. Happy doesn't want to bug you if you tend to turn your Newton on and off frequently. ) And since it closes itself after a few moments, you can easily continue normal operation of your Newton without interacting with Happy. NOTE: As of release 1.1, you no longer must open Happy after a reset. Happy will automatically open and install itself._Changing Happy's BehaviorYou may change the number of days notice Happy gives you for birthdays as well as specify whether you want Happy to make a sound in celebration of each upcoming birthday. You may set these preferences by tapping the question (?) button in the upper right side of the reminder. When you do so, the reminder is replaced by the preferences and some information about the creator of Happy. To change the number of days notice Happy gives you for a birthday, just write a number on the dotted line marked "Days Notice". The number you write will replace the number already displayed on the line. You may also check or uncheck the box marked "Play Sound" if you wish Happy to announce birthdays audibly or silently.Any changes you make to your preferences will take effect the next time you open Happy or you turn on your Newton. To return to the reminder, just tap the exclamation (!) button in the upper right corner._Happy is Safe!Unlike some shareware out there, Happy will not harm your Newton device in any way.
