About-----Minefield II is a mine hunting game for the Newton 2.x systems.Playing-------1) Object of the game... The object of MineField is to locate all the mines hidden within the playing field. This is usually done by locating and clearing all the cells that do not have mines, while at the same time, avoiding the cells that do have mines. Once you have cleared a square it will either be empty or contain a number. If it is empty then there are no mines in the adjoining squares. If it has a number that indicates how many mines are next to it.3) Flagging mines... There are two ways to flag a mine in MineField you can select which you prefer in the prefs. Dragging into Cell: This option lets you flag a mine by drawing a line into the cell you want to flag. Put your pen down in a difference cell (doesn't matter which) and drag into your cell, then pick up the pen. That cell will be flagged. A single tap clears a cell. Single Tapping: A single tap will mark the cell as a bomb. This is safer because the systems sometimes mistakes double taps as single taps. Double taps will clear. In the prefs, you can adjust the amount of time the Newton will wait for a second tap. Making the bar shorter will speed up the time it takes to respond to single taps.3) HeadStartª... The HeadStartª preference makes playing MineField easier. If you're using HeadStartª, when you hit the new button, the newton will search for a section which doesn't have a bomb in it. This gives you a good place to start playing without exploding right away. HeadStartv will also give you help while you play the game. Tapping in a cleared cell with HeadStartª on will make the newton search around that cell, and will cause it to uncover any squares which shouldn't have bombs. If you've incorrectly marked a box as being a bomb, you can confuse HeadStartª, so be careful. In the i button---------------About-----Tells you important information about who wrote it, as well as who, and what helped.Help-----Brings up a screen with playing instructions.Prefs-----Allows you to choose what sounds will play, whether or not HeadStartª is on, and how you mark and clear mines.Cost----Minefield II costs $10 US.
